Detection of dangerous substances

The legal requirements on health protection for the occupants of buildings and for construction workers make it mandatory to identify materials containing asbestos or other hazardous substances, in order to ensure their proper disposal and provide remediation. For this, we propose the following services.

Any work performed in buildings erected before 1991 is potentially hazardous. In order to limit the risk and to enable our clients to fulfil their responsibilities in perfect compliance with the legislation, we recommend to you carry out an asbestos diagnosis for buildings meant to be demolished, transformed or renovated, as well as for buildings under use that are subject to frequent maintenance jobs.

Through its specialised staff, members of the Swiss Association of Asbestos Consultants (ASCA), Perreten & Milleret SA relies on the necessary know-how for asbestos detection. We can:

  • Conduct a comprehensive detection campaign of materials containing asbestos
  • Provide a diagnosis report based on the ASCA specifications, showing clearly which elements contain asbestos, and to what extent
  • Guarantee to the owner that asbestos is managed in compliance with the legislation in force

Perreten & Milleret SA can also carry out additional diagnosis on the following substances:

  • Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) in plastics
  • Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) in mineral bituminen-bound materials
  • Lead paints

We offer identification missions on these hazardous substances (sampling and analysis before works) and, depending on the results, we plan the cleanup. These substances must be detected early enough in the project process, in order to take all necessary measures for a compliant management of these substances during construction works.
